Where are the birds? – A cause for concern
Where are the birds?. They are all gone. reckless tourist intrusions into their nesting grounds (the mangrove forests) have reduced the migratory bird population phenominally. It will reduce further as kayaks after kayaks, boats after boats intrude into their nesting grounds. So, a humble request, handle kadamakudy with care else this will become another barren and dry tourist spot soon. Please do not come to Kadamakudy to host your loud parties and other similar activities which can hamper the fish fams, migratory birds and the pokkali fields which were and still remains to be the main differentiator of Kadamakudy from other beaten tourist centeres.. Be a responsible and safe tourist. Do not litter, do not make unnecessary noise, do not go to the mangrove forests in big groups, say no to drugs, drive safely. According to the locals more than 14 major accidents occured in the main kadamakudy road. Act responsibly.
