Many thanks to Mr.!Prince the General Manager of Nihara resorts for inviting me for dinner today. Getting an invitation in the capacity of a blogger for the first time made it even more exciting. The food spread at their riverside grill had everything perceivable for a seafood grill starting with a prawns soup. Kozhuva peera, different varieties of kappa preparations, fish curry, kuttanadan duck curry, grilled shrimps, fish, fish biriyani, coconut pudding..I could see everything matching theme kadalum karimeenum. The story did not end there. And finally I saw the Pokkali rice on a dining table for the first time in my life, which made me slightly emotional and guilty as well, because it took me this many years to see Pokkali rice at a place it deserves. I have visited the Pokkali fields, have witnessed the Pokkali harvest and I had to wait for so many years to taste it..why?. Why did it take so many years for me to finally experience a dinner with the locally developed species which is so tasty and healthy?. I leave this question to all from India, especially those from Kerala state of India to find an answer and solution..Thanks Prince for the invitation and hospitality.
